At the threshold of a new era

In this surreal, astonishing, sad era, I see glimmers of hope. It won’t look anything like what we are accustomed to. I envision green shoots of communities supporting each other in the daily acts of living. In the midst of unimaginable and senseless suffering, our country looks like Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The nationwide and worldwide collapse of the social order, crushingly high fuel prices, governments and corporations that have squandered our trust, and thrust us into a harsh new reality. This gives rise to a golden era in which communities can develop the resources to support one another. This is our salvation.
Population loss, soaring fuel costs, environmental degradation, and inflation have combined to devastate rural and urban communities alike. It may take a generation to recover.
Fortunately, we are blessed with enormous reserves of talent and resources. My vision is to develop real estate with the intention of creating sturdy, durable communities.
My goal is to establish New Community Vision as a real estate development company to:
Develop homes for gracious group living. Start with one home with the goal of expanding it to a network, possibly nationwide. Work with housing people across the country to create a network of home-sharing in any community. Collaborate with the social work and organizational development experts to establish households of unrelated adults to live harmoniously together.
Purchase a storefront to operate as a co-op diner, with separate rooms for talks or workshops. Presumably, a co-op could be sufficiently staffed from breakfast through dinner.
I strive to avoid buying anything destined for the landfill and to support non-corporate businesses. With new ways of living and spending locally, we can increase our reliance on each other as we reduce our dependence on corporations.
Our beautiful earth appears to be tottering because we are birthing an entirely new era. Once we get past this insanity, we can create a more just, moral, and stable world.
